Singapore Golf Club Transport: Chauffeur Guide for Golfers

Singapore Golf Club Transport: Chauffeur Guide for Golfers

Singapore may be small, but it has some excellent golf courses — from the exclusive Singapore Island Country Club to the public-access Marina Bay Golf Course. Getting to and from the course with golf clubs, shoes, and a changing bag requires the right vehicle. A chauffeur who knows the golf circuit makes the day seamless.

Singapore's Major Golf Courses

Exclusive / Member-Only Courses

  • Singapore Island Country Club (SICC): Two courses — Bukit and Sime — in the Thomson area
  • Singapore Golf Club: In the Upper Thomson area; members and guests only
  • Warren Golf & Country Club: In the Choa Chu Kang area
  • Tanah Merah Country Club: Two championship courses in Changi
  • Sentosa Golf Club: Two courses on Sentosa Island (Serapong and Tanjong)
  • Laguna National Golf & Country Club: Two courses in the east (Classic and Masters)

Public-Access Courses

  • Marina Bay Golf Course: The only public 18-hole course in Singapore; in the Marina South area
  • Champions Public Golf Course: 9-hole par-3 course in the Loyang area
  • Mandai Executive Golf Course: 9-hole course in the Mandai area

Nearby (Malaysia)

  • The Els Club Desaru Coast: 90 minutes from Singapore; world-class Ernie Els design
  • Horizon Hills Golf & Country Club: 15 minutes from the Tuas checkpoint in Johor
  • Palm Resort Golf & Country Club: 25 minutes from the Causeway in Johor

The Golf Day Transport Challenge

1. Golf Club Storage

A standard golf bag is 1.2–1.5 metres long and weighs 10–15 kg. Two bags won't fit in a sedan boot. The V-Class or Alphard can fit 4+ bags; the E-Class fits 2 maximum.

2. Early Morning Start Times

Golf tee times start as early as 6:30am. This means:

  • Leaving your hotel/home by 5:30–6:00am
  • The chauffeur needs to be available very early
  • Traffic is light, but the timing requires precision

3. Post-Game Schedule Uncertainty

A round of golf takes 4–5 hours — but can extend to 6+ hours with a meal and drinks afterward. Point-to-point transport doesn't work; you need hourly or full-day disposal.

4. Golf Attire & Equipment

Golf requires specific attire (collared shirts, golf shoes, cap) and equipment (clubs, balls, tees, gloves, rangefinder). The vehicle needs space for all of this.

5. Rain Delays

Singapore's afternoon thunderstorms frequently cause rain delays. The chauffeur needs flexibility — the golf day may extend by 1–2 hours.

The Ideal Golf Day (by Chauffeur)

5:30am — Hotel/Home Pickup

Your chauffeur arrives early. Golf clubs are loaded into the V-Class. The vehicle is pre-cooled.

6:15am — Arrive at Golf Course

Early tee time (6:30am). The chauffeur drops you at the clubhouse entrance and assists with unloading clubs.

6:30am–11:30am — Round of Golf (18 holes)

The chauffeur waits at the clubhouse or returns at a pre-arranged time. (For full-day disposal, the chauffeur stays on-site.)

11:30am–12:30pm — Post-Game Lunch at Clubhouse

Most golf clubs have excellent restaurants. Have a meal and a drink with your playing partners.

1:00pm — Optional: 9 More Holes or Practice Range

If you want to play more, the chauffeur waits. If you're done, depart.

2:00pm — Return to Hotel/Home

Or, the chauffeur can drive you to your next destination (meeting, dinner, airport).

Total chauffeur time: ~8.5 hours

Cost: S$510 (E-Class, extended) / S$510 (V-Class, extended) / S$595 (Hi-Ace, extended)

Tips for Golf Day Transport

  1. Book the right vehicle — Confirm the number of golf bags at booking. 4 golfers = V-Class minimum. Don't try to fit 4 bags in an E-Class.
  1. Book full-day disposal — Golf days are unpredictable. Full-day (8 hours) disposal means the chauffeur waits regardless of how long the round takes.
  1. Confirm the tee time — Provide your tee time at booking so the chauffeur calculates the pickup time correctly.
  1. Dress for golf at the hotel — Don't plan to change at the course. Arrive dressed and ready to play.
  1. Pack a changing bag — After the round, you'll want to change out of golf attire for the drive back. The V-Class has space for a changing bag.
  1. Hydrate on the course — Singapore is hot and humid. Your chauffeur stocks water, but bring extra for the course.
  1. Plan for rain — Singapore's afternoon thunderstorms are frequent. Have a flexible schedule — the chauffeur can extend the booking if rain delays the round.
